Our Story
Sarswati Gyan Mandir Samiti was established on 16th June 1995(PAN: ABFTS8960H) with a vision to promote education and literacy among marginalized communities, particularly children and women, in the rural areas of Basti district, Uttar Pradesh.
For over 30 years, we have been working tirelessly at the grassroots level to bring sustainable change through quality education, literacy programs, skill development, and community awareness. Our organization is deeply rooted in the belief that education empowers individuals and transforms communities.
Operating from our base in Vill: Haluwa, Post: Belwariya Jungal, Harriya, Basti (U.P.), we serve multiple villages and have impacted thousands of lives through our comprehensive programs focused on social upliftment, economic independence, and awareness generation.
Our Mission
To provide quality education and literacy programs that empower children and adults with knowledge and skills, creating self-reliant communities through learning and development, with a special focus on marginalized children and youth in rural Uttar Pradesh.

Our Programs & Initiatives
We run comprehensive programs addressing multiple aspects of community development
Women Empowerment (नारी शक्तिकरण)
Our flagship program focuses on empowering rural women through skill development, financial literacy, and leadership training. Since 1995, we have empowered over 3000+ women with:
- Vocational Training: Tailoring, embroidery, handicrafts, and traditional art forms
- Self-Help Groups (SHGs): Formation and management of 75+ women's groups
- Financial Literacy: Banking, savings, micro-credit, and financial planning
- Legal Awareness: Women's rights, domestic violence prevention, legal aid
- Leadership Development: Building confident community leaders and change-makers
- Entrepreneurship: Supporting women to start and grow small businesses
Education & Literacy (शिक्षा और साक्षरता)
Education is the foundation of development. We have educated and supported over 2500+ children and adults through:
- Children's Education: School enrollment drives, free tuition classes, and scholarship support
- Adult Literacy Programs: Basic literacy and numeracy for women and elderly
- Digital Literacy: Basic computer skills and internet awareness
- Career Guidance: Counseling for higher education and vocational courses
- Educational Materials: Free books, stationery, and uniforms for underprivileged children
- Library & Reading Rooms: Community learning centers with books and resources
Healthcare & Wellness (स्वास्थ्य सेवा)
Health is wealth. We have provided healthcare services to 1500+ families through:
- Medical Camps: Regular free health check-up camps in villages
- Maternal & Child Health: Prenatal care, delivery support, and child immunization awareness
- Nutrition Programs: Awareness on balanced diet and malnutrition prevention
- Sanitation & Hygiene: Menstrual hygiene, clean water, and sanitation awareness
